With a total of 650 students aged 7-15 and 60 teachers, Juraj Dobrila Primary School is the fourth largest school in Istria, situated in the west part of Croatia. The school offers students the opportunity to take part in various extracurricular activities depending on their affinities in order to fully develop the child’s potential. Many of these extracurricular activities have arisen from the Erasmus+ projects four years ago and their aim was to bring together motivated learners, regarding to their interests. Since 2014 the school has participated in four Erasmus+ projects with the goal of raising pupil and teacher competencies in the field of using foreign languages and ICT, teaching outside the classroom, designing materials and working with gifted students and students with learning disabilities etc. Thanks to all acquired competences, ICT infrastructure and the design of various content through student mobility, free and extracurricular activities, pupils were given the opportunity to acquire knowledge in a different way with the goal of achieving better learning outcomes. Since Rovinj is a town with rich cultural heritage tradition, teachers are constantly searching for new ways of presenting it to the students, and this project is aiming in getting to know not only local, but even Europan countries tradition in order to widen their horizons.
